Ample Hills Creamery using DDP snack credits (Nov. 2019)

NOTE: Our final two Disney Dining Plan snack credits of our Fall 2019 trip were used at the Boardwalk’s Ample Hills Creamery. Sadly this store closed (along with everything else at Disney World) on March 20, 2020 due to the COVID pandemic and did not ever reopen. I believe they announced in July that it was permanently closed. However, I’ll go ahead and do a quick review of this visit to Ample Hills Creamery since it ties in to our use of the Disney Dining Plan on part of our trip.

All of the ice cream flavors were on display and available for tasting if you asked…

Their Build Your Own Sundae sounded good but at a price of $9.99, it was not available for a Snack Credit…

However, though the menu indicated that only the items listed on the right side (Ice Cream Sandwiches and 2 scoop Cones or Cups) were available to us with our DDP snack credits, we were also offered the non-alcoholic float (for $6.99) that was listed on the left side without a DDP symbol next to it. So it pays to ask sometimes what your options are when using snack credits at any location.

The choices for the Float were Root Beer, Coke, and Blood Orange, which is what Andrew chose. He chose their King of Mangoes sorbet for his Blood Orange Float…

This was a vegan, non-dairy option. Though he loves ice cream, it can sometimes do a number on his stomach so he played it safe by making this choice.

I went with 2 scoops of ice cream (I chose the Chocolate Milk ‘n Cookies and the Strawberries ‘n Cream for my two flavors) in a cup. I could add any toppings that I wanted. I kept it simple though and added only whipped cream and a cherry.

We took our choices to a table outside. Unfortunately it was pretty dark out there so our photos didn’t come out well, but here they are…

We were both quite happy with our choices. They were a very good use of our last two Disney Dining Plan Snack Credits.
