Anyway, when we finally arrived at Room 4221 we discovered that none of our Magic Bands would open the door. The kids volunteered to stay behind and guard our door.
Meanwhile I returned to the 6th floor concierge desk to take care of the Magic Band problem. When I got up there I realized that I had forgotten to bring the kids’ bands but I was assured that all of our bands would now work. So back to Room 4221 I went and this time the magic in my band finally worked. Of course, then my son realized that he had forgotten something in the car so left the room to retrieve it. Upon his return he attempted to open our door and guess what? Yep, no magic.
So it seemed that I would need to return to the 6th floor with the kids’ “Magicless” Bands, but that would have to wait until after a much needed nap.
And speaking of naps, by the time I thought about taking photos of our room, the kids were already occupying both of the beds. However, our room looked identical to the standard room (#4209) which I had on my last trip. Here are my pics from that room…
One difference in the rooms is that these chocolates and a Welcome letter from the Concierge staff were lying on one of our beds…
Not a big deal, but I was a little sad to see that they were no longer giving the cute chocolate giraffes that I had seen in some online reviews for the Kilimanjaro Club…
But at least I got to see a real giraffe from the balcony of our room…
Which was located to the left of Arusha Rock, so we had this view of the Arusha savanna…
