Ok, so this one can’t really be called a review because I seemed to have lost my notes (or perhaps didn’t take any?). So all I have are a few photos and some vague memories from our dinner at Austin Beer Garden Brewery (aka ABGB), located at 1305 W. Oltorf.
I’m 99% sure that this was my sandwich…
…and I think it was Smoked Turkey and Bacon served with potato salad. It seems like it was a decent sandwich, but nothing remarkable about it comes to mind.
That was an easier one to identify. Next is a harder one…
My first thought was a vegetarian sandwich, since it appears to have slaw, arugula, and several slices of avocado on top. However in the second photo that could be a fried egg hiding underneath the avocado. That combination of ingredients doesn’t seem to match up with any of the sandwiches on their current menu so I guess this sandwich will remain a mystery.
Another mystery sandwich is this one…
Again it seems to have a fried egg so it could be their Prosciutto & Fried Duck Egg sandwich or it could be Bacon & Egg??? Who knows? Lol
And that just leaves this photo, which I think are the Pork Sliders ordered by my son…
It looks like there might be some slaw underneath the pulled pork and maybe some cheese and bbq sauce on top.
I do recall that our group of 6 tried a few different beers and enjoyed them. My daughter really likes the sours here. And that’s about all I have for ABGB. Unfortunately not enough to give it a rating. I promise to do a better job if we ever go back.
FYI: On Trip Advisor ABGB scored 4 stars and currently stands at #250 best of the Austin restaurants reviewed there. They were also given 4 stars on Yelp and ranked only #598 on their 1000 best Austin restaurants list.
