Beach Club Room #3546

I received a text that our Room #3555 was ready at about 3:00 but we decided to wait until after the 6:45 Candlelight Processional show before we headed out of Epcot and walked over to the Beach Club Resort.  We located our assigned room on the 3rd floor and entered it to find that we had been upgraded from a Standard view to a Water view.  However, though our room had a view of the quiet pool, it was smaller and had only two queen beds and no daybed.  Since we were expecting a third person (my daughter) to arrive this evening, we really wanted a room with a daybed (so we each could have our own bed).  So I called down to the front desk and spoke with a manager to see if we could move.  She located an available room with a daybed (#3546) just 5 doors down the hallway but on the opposite side so no water view.  Oh well.

Anyway, the last time that I stayed at the Beach Club it was just for one night back in October 2014.  This was right before they began a refurbishment of their rooms, which was finished in August 2015.  So my Room #2523 (which had only one queen bed and a daybed) had the pre-refurb furnishings.

In October 2014 the bedding and headboards at the Beach Club looked like this…

Our bedding and headboards in December 2016 (post-refurb) looked like this…

In 2014 the t.v. and cabinet looked like this…

That had all been changed and looked like this in 2016…

While I didn’t photograph the bathroom cabinetry during my 2014 stay, I know that it too had undergone an overhaul and now in 2016 looked like this…

While none of these changes seemed to give the room a more “beachy” feel, the new room decor was tasteful.  My only complaint was regarding the daybed.  I was going to make the sacrifice and let my two kids have the beds, while I slept on the daybed.  But after laying on it for a few minutes I quickly changed my mind.  That mattress was like sleeping on a board!  So the last to arrive (my daughter) got the daybed for our week long stay, choosing it over sharing a bed with either me or her brother.
