Boardwalk Inn Room #3289

I had not received a text with my room assignment so upon arrival at the Boardwalk I first checked with the front desk.  When they showed me on a map where my room was located (which was about as far away from the elevators/lobby as you could get at the Boardwalk Inn), I politely asked if there might be any other available rooms which were more conveniently located.

And so I was assigned Room #3289, which was located one floor up from the lobby and right by the elevators.

Resort Maps 2008

On the above map my room was in the purplish area, where it meets the the light blue area.  So with it being so close to the elevator it definitely met my request of it being conveniently located.

The view was of the busy walkway which leads to the Disney bus stop…

So for the sake of privacy I left my curtains closed most of the time that I was in the room.  But at least I like the Boardwalk themed curtains here…

However, though the curtains are themed, the bedding is the same white bedding that seems to be at all of the Disney resorts now…

With just a single throw pillow to break up the boring whiteness…

Too bad it isn’t even a pretty pillow.

I don’t recall if this room had two queen size beds or just one king, but I believe it was two queens.  For other furniture, there was a desk…

Which held a Mickey lamp…

There was also a chair and floor lamp, but no pullout sofa bed/couch…

I liked that the nightstand held a charging station, in addition to the phone…

And the television was a large flat screen, mounted on the wall…

Underneath the t.v. was a cabinet with drawer space.  Plus there was also a decent-size closet (bigger than the closet at the Polynesian Village Resort)…

And there was also this cabinet by the door which held the coffeemaker, mugs, ice bucket, glasses, etc…

And that just leaves the bathroom.  I was disappointed that the double sinks…

…were located in the same room as the tub/shower and toilet.

However, I have found that that’s not normally the case at the Boardwalk Inn.  Another oddity was that this bathroom was quite large with a lot of open space surrounding the toilet…

I did though like that there was a lighted make-up mirror mounted on the wall…

And while at first I thought there was no full-length mirror (which is usually hanging on the outside of the bathroom door of the Boardwalk Inn rooms), I soon discovered it was actually mounted on the door inside the bathroom…

So overall this was definitely not my favorite room of the many that I’ve had at the Boardwalk, both because of the view and bathroom setup.  But it was my choice to go with a room that was more conveniently located to the elevators/lobby so I stuck with it…for the next 6 nights of my trip.
