Captain Cook’s

Let’s begin with some photos of the menus, starting with their Sandwich/From the Grill menu (sorry it’s a little blurry)…

Salads, Soups and Flatbreads…

The Kids menu…

And then last is the section from which I ordered, the Polynesian Favorites…

While I waited for them to prepare my order, I took some photos of the display case which held these desserts…

The Macadamia Nut Cookies looked especially good…

…but I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat all of what I had already ordered so I passed on the cookies.

So what did I order?  Something I’ve been wanting to try here for a long time…

Pulled Pork Nachos topped with Diced Red Onions, Cheese Sauce, Spicy Mayo, Diced Tomatoes, and Pineapple Salsa

And a few more looks…

I got the nachos as a take-out order so they were served in a paper box.  I then took my box of nachos back to my room, where I enjoyed them very much.  I especially liked the crispy house-made potato chips and the tasty pulled pork.  I wish I could have eaten more of these, but my cold had done a number on my appetite.  So sadly half of these went into the refrigerator and then into the garbage the next day when I found the chips were a soggy mess.  I’ll have to have them again sometime when I’m hungrier or have someone to share them with.

I returned to Captain Cook’s two more times during my stay at the Polynesian so I’ll hold off on all the ratings and rankings.  But I will say that the nachos were a good start to my experience with Captain Cook’s.
