I approached the nice ladies at the restaurant’s front desk to check on the availability of a table for one…
I was immediately seated at a table for two by a window, much like this one…
Before looking at the menu, I took a minute to “stop and smell the roses” …
I love the beautiful red rose that adorns each and every table at this restaurant. So simple, yet so elegant.
Then I got down to the business of photographing the menu…
And the flip side for the cold beverages…
However, there was no need for me to actually read the menu because I knew exactly what I wanted. First I was in need of some caffeine…
…which was satisfied by a simple cup of coffee with cream.
And then my #1 reason for having breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe…
Vanilla-Laced French Toast – Brioche Bread dipped in Vanilla flavored batter, served with your choice of bacon or sausage – $11.99
And a close-up shot…
I make a pretty darn good version of French toast, if I do say so myself. However, I am the first to admit that this one trumps mine. As further proof of its greatness, when I last visited the GFC I shared the French toast with my DD Emily. Those of you who know her from my previous dining reports, know that there are very few breakfast foods that she would deem worthy of giving up her precious sleep. After our December breakfast, Emily declared that the GFC’s French toast was one of these foods.
After slowly savoring every bite of my delicious breakfast, I made my way upstairs to board the monorail to Magic Kingdom, but I stopped to take a few photos of the beautiful Grand Floridian lobby…
…and then for the first time of the trip I heard one of my favorite Disney World phrases,
“Please stand clear of the doors. Por favor manténganse alejado de las puertas.”
