Hope Outdoor Gallery

On one day during my April 2016 visit to Austin, my daughter suggested that we go see the Hope Outdoor Gallery, located at 1101 Baylor Street…

This constantly changing graffiti park was amazing!  I took tons of photos but I’ll try to limit myself to my favorites…

I was very drawn to this wall…

After spending a few minutes looking at and photographing my favorite wall I turned my attention to other areas…

We even climbed to the top for a pretty good view of downtown Austin…

Then we came back down, only to find this happening to my favorite wall…

Such a beautiful, colorful wall was being covered with grey paint.  UGH!!

I was pretty sad, but then I saw this happening…

He was painting “MARRY ME”, perhaps in preparation for a marriage proposal??

And with that happy thought we left the Hope Outdoor Gallery.  But we again returned a year later, in April 2017, and of course it had completely changed.

This one of Jack Nicholson from “The Shining” was outstanding…

Oh, and here was what my favorite wall from last year now looked like…

I was glad to see it was not grey anymore.

Both Yelp and Trip Advisor reviewers have given Hope Outdoor Gallery a rating of 4 1/2 stars but in our opinion it deserves a full 5 stars!
