A Disney World trip is not complete without a visit to Karamell-Küche for some take-home treats. This ritual always includes ogling their glass display cases filled with delicious caramel treats. On this trip there were a couple of things that caused me to do a double take. While I’ve always seen these three types of caramel apples in KK’s display case…
This time I noticed a new kind of caramel apple was added to the mix…
These looked really good but check out that price. $13.99 for a caramel apple?!?! No way!
I was though tempted to buy one of these…
I was too full to eat this now though, having just had a 5 course meal, and it didn’t look like something that would travel well. So I passed on the delicious-looking cupcake but made a mental note to try this on my next trip.
I did though buy my usual take-home treats of caramel popcorn…
This fresh batch of caramel corn smelled incredible!
And I also always bring home some of these chocolate and sea salt covered caramels, as they are a family favorite…
And the last take-home treat that I always get for myself is this…
I’ve been buying these ever since I first set foot in Karamell-Küche back in 2010. While I’ve always thought that $3.99 was a bit steep for a piece of candy, I really loved these so I bought them anyway. But I justified their purchase because they were large enough to last me at home for quite awhile…taking an occasional bite whenever I was especially missing my happy place (aka Disney World).
However, unlike all my previous visits to Karamell-Küche , this time I could no longer justify their purchase. Though the price was still $3.99, the caramel rolls had shrunk…
The caramel rolls are now not much bigger than a quarter and also thinner.
They no longer filled up the paper cup like they used to…

I was so disappointed!! And in protest of their downsizing, for the first-time ever I left Karamell-Küche without a single caramel roll.
