Though on a Saturday (early) evening there was a line at La Cava’s take-out window, we were able to be seated at a table inside the bar right away.
If you have never been inside La Cava del Tequila, the back wall of the bar has a beautiful mural. Here is a photo of just a small portion of that mural…
And the chairs are painted, like this one with the face of Frida Kahlo…
Here’s a look at their menu as of Dec. 17, 2016, starting with my favorite La Cava Avocado Margarita…
Plus three snack options of Salsa, Queso, or Guacamole, all served with tortilla chips. Also note there is the option of getting all three of these with the Trio Combo.
Though I love their Avocado Margaritas, I decided to go with something smaller in size…
This was a shot of Rompope, which is an eggnog-like drink made from eggs, milk, and vanilla flavoring. I believe this had rum in it as well. I like eggnog so I enjoyed this.
My daughter and son shared a Minty Pineapple Margarita…
This had Mezcal, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, Caramelized Pineapple Juice, Lime Juice, and Mint Cordial (syrup). I was unsure about the pineapple and mint combination so passed on this one but both of them liked it.
My son was hungry so we also got an order of Queso dip and Chips…
At $10 this wasn’t an inexpensive snack, but at least they didn’t charge us for the side of salsa. The cheese dip (queso) was good. With the jalapenos it had just a little spice to it but not overly spicy.
Unfortunately La Cava does not take Tables in Wonderland, making their $14.50 margaritas a little bit painful…but I do still love that Avocado Margarita.
