Mizner’s Lounge (Closed, Replaced by Enchanted Rose Lounge Fall 2019)

Although my friends, Paula & Hunter, have visited Mizner’s Lounge many times, this was my first time there.  For those who are unfamiliar with this small lounge located on the second floor of the Grand Floridian Resort’s main building, you can find it tucked away  behind the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra which performs every evening.

A look from the bar inside of the lounge looking out…

Here was there Cocktail menu as of Oct. 31, 2017…

Next time I’d like to try The Grand Cocktail, but this time I ordered only a glass of pinot grigio.  My friends had red wine and what looks like a regular iced tea, but could have been a Long Island iced tea.

We were given a complimentary bowl of bar snack mix to munch on with our drinks…

This was an Oriental snack mix with wasabi peas, sesame sticks, etc.

But I wanted us to review at least one of their appetizers for my blog so took a look at their food menu…

I was between the Arancini and their Seasonal Flatbread, and ended up choosing the…

Arancini – Crispy Risotto with Creamy Mascarpone and Spicy Garlic Poma Rosa Sauce

And a closer look…

For a stuffed ball of rice this was pretty good.  I probably would have liked the flatbread better, but one small rice ball was undoubtedly the better portion size for us when we planned to end our monorail crawl at California Grill.

However, having had only this small taste of Mizner’s Lounge I don’t feel qualified to rate it.  I will tell you though that Yelp reviewers rated it only 3 1/2 stars, but it fared better on Trip Advisor where it received a rating of 4 1/2.  Also Mizner’s Lounge ranked #550 of the nearly 3,000 Orlando area restaurants reviewed on Trip Advisor and #160 of the more than 300 Disney World area restaurants.  Not too bad for a lounge.
