Narcoossee’s

Though I had originally planned on just having dessert here, I was hungry for something savory.  So I looked over the menu to see what might call out my name…

I wasn’t hungry enough for an entree so I concentrated on the Soups & Salads and Appetizers sections of the menu.  I came very close to ordering the shrimp and grits but then something from the Enhancements section caught my eye…

So I ended up ordering this…

Lobster Macaroni & Cheese with Torchio Pasta, Butter-poached Lobster, Fennel, Sweet Onion, and Manchego Cheese

And an inside look…

This was very good but very filling.  So filling that I almost didn’t have room to have dessert…but more on that later.

With his seafood allergies, Hunter was limited to the three options in the Land section of the entree menu.  But he wasn’t really feeling any of these.  Instead he was feeling this…

Chicken Tenders with french fries and green beans

This was an adult-size portion of an option on the Kids’ menu.  And according to Hunter, it more than satisfied his adult palate.  He was actually very impressed with the quality of these chicken tenders.  They do look delicious, don’t they?

As for Paula, she wasn’t hungry enough to order any food of her own, so just ordered this cocktail…

Pumpkin Spice Martini with Stoli Vanil Vodka, Baileys Irish Cream, and Monin Pumpkin Spice with a Sugar and Pumpkin Spice Rum

Paula said she really liked this!

Before moving on to dessert, I want to give an honorable mention to Narcoossee’s complimentary bread basket…

And yes, I know this was just bread…of the sourdough variety to be more exact.  But it’s always warm, fresh tasting and delicious here so let’s hear it for the bread.  :thumbsup2

Ok, now moving on to the primary reason for my visit…

WISHES!!!

No, not really.  I do love viewing Magic Kingdom’s fireworks show from Narcoossee’s private outside deck though.  And let me just say here that my heart is broken that WISHES will soon be replaced.  If only  I’d known then that this would be my last time seeing it.

But on a happier note, DESSERT!

Of course there was really no need for me to look at the dessert menu here, other than to take a photo of it for this review.  The only dessert I could possibly order at Narcoossee’s is their signature…

Almond-crusted Cheesecake with Lambert Cherry Sauce

The combination of the cheesecake and the crunchy, sweet slivers of almond is already delicious.   But then you add to that the whipped cream and slightly tart cherries and you have dessert perfection.

You might recall though that the lobster mac & cheese had pretty much filled me up.  But there was no way I could pass up one of my favorite WDW desserts so I ate as much as I could.  Paula also enjoyed a few bites.  Yet there was still quite a bit of cheesecake left, which our server offered to box up so that I could take it with me.  And I’m happy to report that this dessert was still very good after sitting in my room’s refrigerator for a few days.

So I would have to say that Narcoossee’s is currently on my list of favorite signature restaurants at Disney World.  I’ve had very good luck with both the food and service here during my last four or five visits.  This combined with its lovely waterfront setting makes this restaurant a winner for me!
