During my 2017 trip, which included a 5 night stay at the Polynesian, I discovered Pineapple Lanai, a window located just outside the resort’s Great Ceremonial House…
While the menu is quite limited here…
I absolutely fell in love with the second item listed, the Dole Whip (Pineapple Soft Serve) swirled with Vanilla Soft Serve…
In fact, I loved it so much that I had this 3 times during my 5 night stay at the Polynesian.
Fast forward now to my 2018 trip, which started with 3 nights at the Polynesian. After checking out of my room at 11:00 on my final morning there, I decided to walk by Pineapple Lanai to see if it was open yet for the day. I was very happy to see that it was in fact open (and actually had been open for more than hour)…
With two snack credits remaining in my Dining Plan account, I decided that one of those needed to be used here. The only question was do I again get my much-loved, tried and true Dole Whip Swirl (with a snack credit value of $4.99 plus tax) or do I try something new and get a Dole Whip Float, which would increase the value of my snack credit to $5.99 plus tax? Here is what I chose…
Dole Whip & Vanilla Swirl Float – $5.99
And a little closer look…
So this was exactly the same as what I had had before but with the addition of pineapple juice. And my verdict? While this was good, I still prefer the Dole Whip Swirl sans the pineapple juice. While I like the flavor of pineapple, the float (with the addition of the juice) was a little too much pineapple for me. However, I’m glad I gave it try and feel it was a good use of my Snack Credit.
