WHY THE SWAN?
When I decided that I wanted my husband and I to spend a couple of days at Disney World prior to our kids and grandkids arriving, I began looking for room availability in the Epcot resort area since Epcot is our favorite park. While I would have preferred to stay at one of the Disney-owned resorts, I just couldn’t get past the price difference between them and the Swan. The room rate for Wednesday and Thursday of our 3 night stay in late May was $234 and for Friday night it was $265. Even with their mandatory $50/night resort service fee, the average (before tax) price of our room was under $300. The rates (before tax) at the Boardwalk or Yacht & Beach Club were closer to $500 at that time. With this being a 10 night trip (with 7 of those nights in two rooms at the Contemporary), I just couldn’t justify paying the extra money to stay at basically the same location (within walking distance of both Epcot and Hollywood Studios). And while I also considered the Dolphin, as it is slightly cheaper than the Swan, I prefer the smaller and less busy atmosphere of the Swan. Plus the Swan has queen size beds rather than the doubles at the Dolphin.
Now that the “Why” part is out of the way, let’s move on to my review of our Room #672.
We arrived at the Swan at about midnight, so I took only a few photos of our room before we got ready for and went to bed.

Since our last stay at the Swan in April 2024, they renovated their rooms. I didn’t notice many changes to the room though. I do believe that most of the room that we stayed in in 2024 had carpeting but now that had been replaced by nice white oak tile flooring and an area rug around the beds. They also painted the walls a darker blue and added some new artwork. The headboards had also been updated. Also I think the bedding had been improved. Previously the comforter was goose-down and way too heavy and warm for typical Florida weather. This time we didn’t have this problem and were able to sleep comfortably.
I didn’t notice any changes to the closet/2nd sink area…

I really like this floor plan because there are two separate areas (that have a mirror, sink, counter space and outlets) where you can get ready. As you can see the bathroom also has a large sink area…

The one difference from our 2024 bathroom that I didn’t like is that there was only a shower in this room rather than a tub/shower combination. I love to take a hot, relaxing bath before bed but have found that tubs are getting difficult to find in hotel rooms.

As you can see, this room had the typical hotel shower.
I waited until morning to take a photo or our room view. This was a standard room.

While our view was a roof view, if you looked beyond the roof you could see the front entrance of the hotel. You could also see the Hollywood Tower Hotel (aka the Tower of Terror ride) at Hollywood Studios in the distance.

So for a standard view room this view wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible either.
Overall, I was satisfied with our 3 night stay at the Swan. While the Swan doesn’t give me that “I’m at Disney” feeling, I am sometimes willing to forego that magical Disney vibe to save some money…especially on split-stay, long trips like this was.
