Tambu Lounge

While waiting for my friends to arrive I ordered a Frozen Pina Colada ($9.25)…

This was sweet, creamy and delicious. I preferred this over the Pina CoLava that I had earlier in the day at Geyser Point. For me the addition of the raspberry puree made it a little too sweet.

When my friends, Paula and Hunter, joined me they too each ordered a drink…

The drink on the left is an Ultimate Long Island Ice Tea (Bacardi Superior Rum, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Hendrick’s Gin, Cointreau, and Sweet-and=Sour with a splash of Coca-Cola – $11.50). Then on the right is Hunter’s Rye Manhattan (Bulleit Rye Small Batch American Whiskey, Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth, and Angostura Bitters, garnished with Luxardo Gourmet Maraschino Cherries – $12.00).

Both of these were good.

Then I ordered some appetizers for us to share, chosen from this menu…

My first choice was the…

Pork Sliders – Mini Sandwiches with Kona Coffee Barbecue Pork topped with Slaw

These were very good, but even better was my second choice…

‘Ohana Potstickers – Pork and Vegetable Dumplings tossed in Garlic Ginger Sauce

If you’ve ever had dinner at ‘Ohana then you know how delicious these potstickers are. It’s really nice to have the option of getting these a la carte at the Tambu Lounge.

And speaking of ‘Ohana, another of the ‘Ohana favorites is available at the lounge next door…

‘Ohana Bread Pudding – Single serving of ‘Ohana’s Bread Pudding served with a scoop of vanilla ice and a side of Banana-Caramel Sauce

And one more photo with the sauce…

Another good choice. I left the Tambu Lounge feeling quite full and satisfied. My one gripe with the lounge is their very small tables and not very comfortable chairs…

Because of this I would subtract 1/2 star and rate the Tambu Lounge 4 1/2 stars, which is the same rating given by the reviewers on Trip Advisor. Yelp reviewers though gave the Tambu Lounge 4 stars. As for their ranking, they came in at #429 of the nearly 3,000 Orlando area restaurants reviewed on Trip Advisor. Narrowing this down to just the Disney World area restaurants, they rank #128 of 300+ restaurants.
