Though I had been unable to snag a reservation for breakfast at this fairly new restaurant (opened in October 2024) online through Disney Dining, I was able to easily get one on Open Table and had my choice of several times for a Saturday morning in late March.
We walked over to the Boardwalk, where this restaurant is located (in the space previously occupied by the ESPN Club), from our room at the Beach Club Villas for our 9:00 reservation and checked in at their outside desk at 8:53. We were seated just 3 minutes later.
My first impression walking into the dining room of this restaurant was, “WOW”!!!

This restaurant is stunning and soooo WHITE!
We were seated at a two-top table which butted up against the beautiful gazebo in the center of the room…

Here are photos of their breakfast menu…

We both started by ordering coffee, which came with a complimentary donut hole…

The coffee was good but the donut hole was just okay. But hey, it was free!
Next we ordered these…

Cinnamon Toast Brioche Bites made with Cinnamon, Brown Sugar and European Butter. Piled high and served with a side our signature cream cheese frosting – $24.00
I had heard so much about these so I couldn’t wait to try them. For me, they lived up to the hype. I gave the Brioche Bites a rating of 4.5. Don thought they were a little dry (he didn’t add as much of the cream cheese frosting as I did, lol) so he rated the Brioche Bites a 4. So our average rating for the Brioche Bites was 4.25.
For his entree, Don chose the…

Eggs Any Style – Two Eggs (he requested them to be scrambled), Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, Your Choice of Smoked Bacon, Pork Sausage, or Plant-based Sausage and Your Choice of Toast (Gluten-free bread available for an additional $2.00) – $18.00 (the current price as of their April 2026 online menu is $22.00)
He chose bacon for his meat. In the above photo it was partially hidden by the salad. Here’s a photo that better shows the bacon…

By the way, the arugula salad was a surprise addition that was not included in the menu description as a side for this entree. It was dressed with a housemade lemon vinaigrette and topped with sliced cherry tomatoes and Parmesan cheese.
Don said the roasted potatoes and bacon were especially good. The potatoes were crispy on the outside but soft inside. And the bacon was a good quality thick-cut applewood smoked bacon that tasted like it was oven-baked rather than fried, which is how we cook our bacon at home. Even so, he gave his Eggs any Style entree just a “good” rating of 4. This was likely because he thought it was a bit overpriced at $18.00 for a pretty common, simple entree. I’m pretty sure he ordered this because it was one of the cheapest entrees on their breakfast menu. I haven’t told him yet that this entree now costs $22.00 (a 22% increase in one year!), Lol.
As for my entree, I couldn’t make up my mind so I actually chose two. My main one was the…

Croque-Madame made with Country bread, French ham, Gruyere cheese, Maille Dijon mustard, bechamel sauce, and a farm fresh sunny side up fried egg – $29.00
This normally came with an arugula salad for the side but I was given the option of substituting the salad for a bowl of fresh fruit (which was just berries…mostly blueberries with a few raspberries and blackberries mixed in).

So yes I splurged and got one of their most expensive breakfast entrees, with only their Crab Cake Eggs Benedict and Steak and Eggs costing more. Was it worth it? In my opinion, no. First of all I was hoping that the yolk of my sunny side up egg would have been runnier. And then the predominant flavor of the “sandwich” was the Dijon mustard, which I wasn’t really a fan of. Consequently, I gave my Croque Madame a rating of only 3.
I had heard a lot about how good the Chocolate Chip Waffles were here, so I really splurged and ordered a Children’s portion…

Chocolate Chip Belgian Waffles served with pink vanilla buttercream frosting, Chocolate Syrup, and Vermont Maple Syrup – $14.00
By the way, the adult size portion came with four waffles (instead of 2) for $18.00.
Also, as a side note, because this was a Children’s entree it normally came with a coloring sheet and colored pencils. Our server asked if I wanted this and I said yes because I knew my granddaughter (who would be joining us the next day) would love this…

Sadly though I was a bit disappointed with the waffles. They required a lot of syrup to be added, otherwise they were a bit dry. And though I’m a big fan of buttercream frosting on cake, I didn’t really care for on my waffle. So anyway, I was expecting the Chocolate Chip Belgium Waffles to be at least a 4 or higher but for me they ended up rating only a 3.
But I will end this review on a positive note because our server here was excellent, one of the best of our 10 day trip. As an example of her excellent service, we had a lot of food leftover and she asked us if we would like to take it with us. Since we were staying for one more night at the Beach Club Villas (with a microwave in our studio room) we decided to take her up on her offer. She very carefully boxed up the items (in three very nice take home containers) and then placed the boxes in this bag This was a very nice bag…

This was the nicest takeout bag I’ve ever received from a restaurant!
Also when I took out my Disney Chase VISA to pay our check our server gave us a 10% discount, which I was not expecting. The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant was not (and is currently not) listed on the Disney Rewards website as a dining location that offers the 10% discount when using your Disney VISA card. So on our $99.00 (pre-tax) check this saved us $9.90. While we added most of this savings to her already generous tip, the discount was still a nice surprise and one that she didn’t have to tell us about.
So with full stomachs and a “pretty” bag of leftover food, we headed out of the restaurant after a relaxing breakfast that lasted almost 1 1/2 hours. I know this because I took this photo on the way out at 10:22.

So in conclusion, this was an expensive breakfast. We paid about $120 with tax and tip for two people, and it wasn’t even a character meal, lol. But to be fair, we did order a lot of food and we had enough leftovers to have this breakfast platter to share the next morning…

This was plenty for the two of us since we were having lunch later that day at Homecomin’,
Though I am very happy that we gave this new restaurant a try, it’s probably not one that I need to return to anytime soon. If I do return, it would probably be for lunch rather than breakfast. Oh, and I would still like to check out their bakery shop…maybe on our next trip.
