Our lunch began at Yak & Yeti by ordering cocktails from their Specialty Drinks menu…
From left to right: Big Bamboo with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Don Q Cristal Rum, Banana Liqueur & Tropical Fruit Juices; Rickshaw Rickie with Skyy Vodka, Cointreau Orange Liqueur, Muddled Oranges and Limes, Sprite; Kiwi Kimono with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum. Vodka, Midori Melon Liqueur, Fresh Kiwi, and Sweet & Sour
I always get the same cocktail, the Big Bamboo, at Yak & Yeti because I really like this. It’s the perfect amount of sweetness, fruitiness, and alcohol for me. As always, I was pleased with my choice. The kids also enjoyed their choices too.
We also ordered an appetizer (from the Small Plates section of the menu) to share…
We chose the Pork Egg Rolls…
The order includes three large egg rolls (perfect for the three of us) and some chili-plum sauce for dipping. I really like the egg rolls at Yak & Yeti. They are among my all-time favorite egg rolls.
Now for our entrees, starting with my daughter’s choice…
Teriyaki Chicken – Marinated Chicken, Pineapple-Onion-Pepper Skewers, Teriyaki Glaze, Coconut-Ginger Rice, and Stir-fried Vegetables
She said this was not the best. Unfortunately my son felt the same way about his entree choice…
Chicken Tikka Masala – Boneless Chicken marinated in yogurt and freshly ground herbs, cooked in a traditional Masala sauce and served with jasmine rice and garlic naan bread
And a closer look…
He said the spiciness of this dish was overpowering.
So I was the winner at this meal because my entree choice was delicious…
Crispy Honey Chicken – Tempura Chicken with honey sauce, served with sugar snap peas, carrots and choice of jasmine or brown rice
For an extra $2.00 I requested fried rice (instead of the jasmine white rice or brown rice) and it was very good. I enjoyed everything about this dish. It was the first time that I’d ordered this here but it definitely won’t be the last. YUMMY!!
Normally I order the Fried Wontons for dessert here…
…but this time we were too full to consider dessert.
While Yak & Yeti does not offer a discount to Tables in Wonderland members, I was able to get a 10% discount on our entrees only as an Annual Passholder.
So based on my meal only I would give Yak & Yeti a perfect score of 5. However, after factoring in the kids’ disappointing entrees, I would have to reduce the rating to a 3 1/2 or perhaps a 4. Yelp reviewers also rated Yak & Yeti a 4, but it fared a little better on Trip Advisor with the reviewers there rating it 4 1/2.
