Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House Room 4015 (Giraffe Trail)

I had done online check-in so received this text on my phone during our lunch at Sanaa…

“Welcome!  Your resort room is ready.  You room number is 4015 4th Floor Giraffe Trail Jambo House.”

So I boarded the lobby elevator and got off on the 4th floor in search of my room.  Here is a map so you can see its location…

My room was located at the end of the first leg of the Giraffe Trail, close to the other elevator which is located by the restaurants (Jiko and Boma) on the first floor.  The even numbered rooms in this section would probably be considered Pool View but I had booked a Standard View room so my view was of the driveway for the front entrance of the resort…

And also the Smoking Area of the resort…

So my standard view was nothing special, but I’ve had much worse.  And if I really wanted to see the pool all I had to do was walk out into the hallway and look out the nearby large window for a glimpse of the Uzima Springs Pool…

But now let’s take a look inside my room…

Like at the Boardwalk Inn and Polynesian the bedding here was all white…

The last time I stayed here (May 2015) the bedding still had some colorful accents…

But now it seems that it’s the same stark white at all of the resorts…how boring!

The furniture seemed to be the same though…

As did the two parts of the bathroom, which has the double sinks in a separate area…

…from the room with the toilet and tub/shower.

If you read the review of my room at the Polynesian you might remember that this wasn’t the case there.  This for me would have been a huge negative if I’d been traveling with my family.

So in case you are wondering, of my three (standard view) resort rooms on this trip (at the Boardwalk Inn, Polynesian Village, and Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House) the Boardwalk was my favorite.  This room at AKL would come in second and the Polynesian one (though conveniently located) would be my least favorite.  If you haven’t already, read my reviews and perhaps you’ll understand why.
