Our first food (and beverages) of the trip came from the lounge of one of the Signature restaurants at our hotel, Todd English’s bluezoo. While I have dined at the restaurant a few times, most recently in 2021, I had never eaten in the lounge. But when I learned that the lounge hosts a Happy Hour nightly from 4:00 – 6:00 with appetizer and drink specials, I thought it would be the perfect place to kick off our progressive dinner on our first night of the trip.

And so we arrived at the bluezoo’s cool waterfall entrance at just before 5:00, so perfect timing for their Happy Hour.

While the restaurant’s dining room is quite beautiful…

The lounge area is very pretty too…

And as I mentioned previously, they have a special menu in the lounge area during Happy Hour…

Included are two of bluezoo’s specialty cocktails, the Zooberry for $11.00 and the Serenity for $12.00. The regular prices of these drinks are currently $17 and $18. They also had wine available for $10.00/glass and all beers for $7.00. In addition, their Happy Hour menu included 6 appetizers at special prices.
I started by ordering a cocktail that I had enjoyed previously when dining at the restaurant…

Zooberry – Blueberry infused Vodka and Lemon Juice, topped with a Lemon Twist for $11.00
This was very sweet, sweeter than I remembered it being. Maybe just a little too sweet. I would still give it a rating of 4 though. It was a good drink to begin my vacation.
My husband asked about the available beers. I believe they said they had Miller Lite and Bud Lite on tap and had several craft beers that he wasn’t familiar with. For bottles, they did not have Stella Artois but they did have his second choice, Corona. So he got a Corona for only $7.00 at Disney World and was a Happy Camper!

Then from their list of Happy Hour Appetizers we chose the…

Crab Nachos with Crab, Black Beans, Pico de Gallo, Guacamole, Chimichurri, and White Cheddar Cheese Sauce for $16.00
While these are normally priced at $32.00 (on the regular lounge and restaurant menu), I asked our server and was told that the $32.00 portion was larger than what we had. She compared it to the size of their Dinner menu. So while the Happy Hour nachos were half the price, they may have also been half the portion size. Regardless though, these were very good. I did however reduce their rating to 4 1/2 because I thought they could have used a bit more toppings, but the toppings that we did have were very tasty.
And that concluded the first stop of our progressive dinner. We were off to a good start!
Any ideas where we were headed next?
