Since we were staying at the Swan and were in need of a quick breakfast on our last morning there, Java (conveniently located in the lobby of the Swan) seemed like the best option. So I went downstairs to get food and beverages for the 5 of us that were meeting in our suite for breakfast before doing Airport Run #1 of the day.
Let’s begin with a photo I took of their display case while waiting for them to prepare my order…

Andrew, Jake and Becca all chose items from this display case. Andrew had a Chocolate Croissant ($5.50), Jake had a Bagel ($4.50) and Becca had a Chocolate Chip Muffin ($4.50). All of these were fine, nothing out of the ordinary. They all received an average rating of 3.
Don chose one of their three breakfast sandwiches…

The Standard with Double-cut Bacon, Farm Egg Patty, and Pepper Jack Cheese on a Toasted Croissant Roll – $9.75
Being served on a toasted croissant roll made this a little more unique than the typical breakfast sandwich served on a bagel or English muffin. Other than that though it was nothing special, so it received a rating 3 1/2.
NOTE: One of the other two sandwiches on the menu at Java is the Popeye (aka the healthier option) with Egg Whites, Spinach. Flax Seeds, Low fat Feta Cheese, Olive OIl, and Harissa Spread on a Whole-Wheat Wrap for $8.75. The third sandwich offered at Java is an Egg Muffin with a Baked Egg and Cheddar Cheese on a Whole-Wheat English Muffin for $9.75.
As for me, when I saw these on their menu I couldn’t resist…

Mickey Waffles dusted with Cinnamon Powdered Sugar and served with Maple Syrup – $7.50
These were a little cheaper than the Mickey Waffles you get at the Disney resort quick service restaurants (which cost $3.00+ more), however the Disney resort ones come with a side of either bacon or sausage. Other than that they didn’t compare well to the Disney waffles. These waffles were overcooked and the flavor was just off. Very disappointing. I gave them a rating of only 2.
Our beverages were a regular Joffrey’s coffee ($4.29), a Hot Chocolate ($4.29) and I got a Caramel Latte…

Again this was fine, but there was nothing unusual or memorable about it so I gave it a rating of 3 1/2.
So overall this breakfast was pretty ordinary. It served its purpose by being a convenient way to grab a bite to eat before leaving for the airport. But if you are not a guest at the Swan or have the time to go elsewhere I would probably not recommend it.
