Nomad Lounge – October 2021

I must start this review by saying how much I enjoy sitting outside on the porch of the Nomad Lounge.

Overlooking the Discovery River…

We began this visit to the Nomad Lounge by each ordering a cocktail…

The cocktail pictured in front was Andrew’s choice, the Lamu Libation. It had Starr African Rum, Cruzan Banana Rum, and Guava Puree with Orange, Lime, and Pineapple Juices and was topped with Gosling’s 151 Rum. Lots of rum!! He liked it but only gave it a rating of 3. We both liked my rum cocktail better. My choice was the Leaping Lizard. In addition to having Malibu Pineapple Rum and Leblon Cachaca (a Brazilian distilled spirit made from sugarcane juice), my cocktail had orange, passion fruit and mango juices. Our rating for the Leaping Lizard was a 4. While the Lamu Libation was $14,00, the Leaping Lizard was $15.00. Both of these drinks are on Nomad Lounge’s current cocktail menu (as of March 2024) but their prices have each increased by $2.00.

Impossible Sliders served with Yucca Fries – $15.00

We are both “meat” lovers so were surprised by how much we enjoyed these. The sliders and yucca fries received a rating of 4 from both of us. Though they are no longer on the menu here, they appear to have been replaced by Cuban Frita Sliders, which are a combination of beef and pork. Could this “meatier” version of the sliders score a perfect 5? With our Disney trip quickly approaching, we are hoping to squeeze in a visit to Nomad Lounge during our one day at Animal Kingdom. If we do, we might just have to try the Cuban Frita Sliders.
