Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory Breakfast – April 2024

I placed a Mobile Order for our breakfast and then took the food back to our room for my husband and I to share.

For our entree we chose the…

Western Omelet with Ham, Bell Peppers, Onions, and Cheddar served with Potato Barrels (aka Tatter Tots) – $10.99

The omelet tasted like it had sat under a warmer for quite awhile. If it had been served freshly cooked-to-order it would have gotten a much better rating because the ingredients were good. But as it was, the omelet received only an ok rating of 3. The potato barrels however were nice and crispy and were quite good. They were given a rating of 4.

We also got this side of Bacon to share for $3.49…

This was the typical thin and crispy Disney bacon. If you prefer your bacon to be more thick and chewy then you probably wouldn’t like this. But it was fine and we rated it a 4.

I also got a sweet treat to have during our 2 day drive home…

Thumper Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Buttercream Frosting – $6.29

This seasonal offering (we were there about one week after Easter) was very similar in taste to what is now called a Carrot Cake Whoopie Pie that is sold at the Trolley Car Cafe (Starbuck’s) at Hollywood Studios for $5.70. This was originally sold as the Carrot Cake cookie at the Writer’s Stop at Hollywood Studios before it closed in 2016. The differences between the two were that this was smaller and was cutely decorated. This was good but I would probably prefer the larger and less expensive plain version sold at the Trolley Car. So anyway, our rating for the Thumper Carrot Cake was 3 1/2.

While our breakfast from Sassagoula was fine, after seeing and taking a few photos of their Lunch/Dinner menus, I would bet that those meals would have been better than breakfast…

But anyway, the rest of our shared breakfast that morning was purchased from the nearby Scat Cat’s Club Cafe. I’ll give you a hint though…they were Mickey shaped.
