Scat Cat’s Club Cafe – April 2024

How can you stay at the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort and not have the Mickey beignets from Scat Cat’s Club Cafe? We certainly could not leave POFQ without getting these…

Three Mickey-shaped Beignets served with choice of one Dipping Sauce (Salted Caramel, Strawberry or Chicory Chocolate Ganache) for $7.79 (price as of March 2025 has increased to $7.99)

While still maybe not quite as good as the beignets I’ve had from Cafe Du Monde in the real French Quarter of New Orleans, these were Mickey-shaped and were served with a yummy dipping sauce (we chose salted caramel) so that gives these a few bonus points. Overall we gave the Mickey beignets a rating of 4.

As an added note of nostalgia, I last had the beignets at POFQ in 2017 and they looked like this…

This package of 3 beignets cost me $3.99. Now you can only get one beignet for $3.99. But hey, they weren’t Mickey-shaped back then, lol.

But anyway, back to this 2024 review. I also picked up a couple of coffees at the Cafe to have with our beignets and our breakfast from Sassagoula…

The cup on the left was my husband’s Joffrey’s Chicory Coffee for $3.79. This is Joffrey’s special blend made for the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. I thought he might like it since he really enjoyed Joffrey’s Kona blend (made for the Polynesian resort). However, he wasn’t wild about the chicory flavor and gave this just an ok rating of 3.

Also of note, looking at their current online menu (March 2025) the price of this coffee is now $4.79. Wow, a $1.00 increase in just one year’s time. Yikes!

My coffee (pictured on the right) was a small Latte, with the emphasis on “small”. This small Latte was $4.49, which I initially thought was overpriced until I learned that Starbucks charges $4.85 for a similar size Latte, and that’s at a local Starbucks not at Disney. So I guess, in hindsight this was a bargain?? But anyway, this was just your average Latte and I gave it a rating of 3.
