On the last night of our trip I wanted to do something that I had never before done at Disney World. Knowing that my husband enjoys live entertainment, especially when you don’t have to pay a cover charge, I thought that visiting the Scat Cat’s Lounge would be a great way to spend our last night. Because, in case you hadn’t heard, on Fridays through Sundays a jazz band performs in this New Orleans-style lounge at the Port Orleans – French Quarter Resort.
We walked the short distance from our room at this resort to the Scat Cat’s Lounge (located in the main building) and arrived at about 7:00 p.m.

While there were still a few open tables available at that time, by the time the band started performing at 7:30, most of the tables were filled.
Here is the cocktail menu we were presented…

However, this is a full-service bar so I’m sure there were many more options available.
We both ordered Specialty Cocktails though. My husband was going to get the Bourbon Peach Tea but our server suggested that he get it with Lemonade instead of Sweet Tea…

So on the right is my husband’s Bourbon Peach Lemonade with Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Bols Peach Schnapps Liqueur and Lemonade for $17.00 (price as of their March 2025 online menu is $17.50). Woodford Reserve is one of his favorite bourbons so he enjoyed this cocktail and gave it a rating of 4.
My choice (pictured on the left) was the Southern Hurricane with Bayou Silver Rum, Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, Orange, Pineapple, and Lime Juices with Grenadine and a float of Myer’s Dark Rum for $15.00 (price as of March 2025 is $15.50). This was quite strong! I actually had to wait for some of the ice to melt to water it down enough for me to drink it. Because of this I gave this just an okay rating of 3.
We also ordered some food from their Appetizers menu…

Gumbo Poutine – French Fries loaded with Gumbo, Cheese Curds, and Cheese Sauce – $12.00 (price unchanged as of March 2025)
I wasn’t sure what to expect with the gumbo but it turned out to be a thick gravy. The fries were thick cut wedges that were seasoned with a Cajun spice, giving them just a bit of a spicy kick but not too spicy. My favorite part of this dish though was the cheese sauce. Delicious! We gave the poutine a rating of 4.
My favorite though of the three things we tried from the Appetizer menu was the…

Shrimp Beignet Po’Boy – Beignet Bun topped with Fried Shrimp, Lettuce, Tomato, House-Made Pickles and Cajun Remoulade served with Potato Chips – $15.00 (price unchanged as of March 2025)
I really enjoyed the combination of the slightly sweet beignet bun (dusted with powdered sugar), the delicious, crispy fried shrimp, and the savory sauce which had just a touch of spice. I also really liked the chips, and as you can see from the photo we received a generous helping of them. The sandwich and chips received a nearly perfect rating of 4 1/2.
And much to my surprise our least favorite of the things we tried were the…

Baton Rouge Beignets – Two Beignets jazzed up with your choice of Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur (our choice), Kahlua Liqueur or RumChata Liqueur – $12.49 (price as of March 2025 is $12.99)
I was a bit disappointed with these boozy beignets. I like beignets and I like Baileys but the two together were not as good as I thought they would be. I think I would have preferred to eat regular beignets and drink my Baileys. So while these weren’t bad, we could still only give these a rating of 3.
And that concluded the food and cocktail portion of our Scat Cat’s Club Lounge experience. The Shrimp Beignet Po’Boy was a highlight and something I would get again if I should ever have the opportunity to return to Scat Cat’s and it’s still on the menu. The other two items were fine, especially for lounge food, but I would probably skip them and instead try something else, like the Pimento Cheese Fritters, on a future visit.
But actually we were there more for the live entertainment than the food and cocktails. And it was great!
