First a few photos of the restaurant…
We started by ordering some beverages, Chocolate Milk for Andrew and both Coffee and OJ for me…
All of these were included in the cost of the breakfast. And all received a rating of 4.
Next was the included paint bucket of assorted breakfast pastries…
I believe we received two each of Mini Chocolate Chip Muffins, Plain Croissants, and Danish…
I didn’t try the plain croissant because I didn’t want to completely fill up before getting our entrees. The mini muffin (in the cute Mickey muffin cup) and the danish were both good though. I was expecting the danish to be fruit filled but it actually was filled with caramel, which was a nice surprise. We gave the pastries a rating of 4.
Oh, and the three spreads which accompanied the pastries were…
Honey Butter, Strawberry Jam and Nutella (or a whipped chocolate-hazelnut spread).
Now on to our entrée choices. My first choice was the…
The chorizo sausage had a little spice but not too much. My favorite part of this dish was the perfectly cooked poached egg. I almost wish there had been two eggs. Overall this was a good choice and I gave it a rating of 4.
Our server told us we could order a second entrée (minus the sides) at no additional choice so I took her up on her offer…

Mickey Waffle Dippers (from the Kids’ menu)
What an adorable presentation of Mickey waffles and so easy for kids to eat. They were served with three dipping sauces. from left to right they were Nutella sauce (chocolate-hazelnut), regular syrup, and strawberry sauce. My favorite was the Nutella sauce. Another 4 rating for the Mickey Waffle Dippers!
Andrew went with the…

Sour Cream Waffles with Roasted Apples, Chantilly Cream, Orange-Maple Syrup, and with your choice of Bacon (Andrew’s choice), Ham, Sausage, or Plant-based Sausage
He said you could not taste the sour cream in the waffles but they were less sweet than the Mickey waffles. He liked the citrus flavor that was added to the maple syrup. Andrew also gave his waffles a rating of 4.
Note: While the Sour Cream Waffles and the Mickey Waffle Dippers are still on the current menu (as of Feb. 2024), my entrée choice, the Spiced Sausage Hash, is no longer available. Also I’ve read that you are now limited to ordering just one entrée per person.
Now for the characters, which all have an artistic theme. First up is the host, Topolino…

Painter Mickey

Poet Minnie
The characters came around several times during the hour plus that we were there. Although they had to remain socially distanced, they still posed very well for photos and interacted with the guests as best they could. Twice during our breakfast they had a “character celebration” where they played the well-known Italian song, “Funiculi, Funicula”.
And because Topolino’s Terrace is located on the top floor (10th floor) of the Riviera Resort it has a great view…
You could see Tower of Terror (aka Hollywood Hotel) at Hollywood Studios and the Swan & Dolphin Resort. Also some of the taller buildings of Epcot’s World Showcase could be seen.
So overall there were many positives for this meal. The food received 4’s across the board. The service was great and they didn’t make you feel rushed at all. I prefer this style of service, where you can select from several options and the food is served to you at the table. I also loved the atmosphere. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out, with a great view from the terrace. And the characters’ costumes are very cute! The one negative is that it was priced at $42.00 (in October 2021) and now (Feb. 2024) costs $49 for adults and $30 for children. The only more expensive character breakfasts are Cinderella’s Royal Table, Akershus, and Chef Mickey’s. But in my opinion it was worth the extra money. It was my favorite character meal of this trip!
